Time to stand my ground

In a world that keeps on pushing me around I need to stand my ground.

My knees hurt, but I'm not surprised.

16 06 13I haven't been eating wisely the last few weeks, and definitely feel heavier.

But I don't want to be heavier, and I don't want my runs getting harder instead of easier.

So I have to make a decision.

I can decide to eat like a pig, get even fatter, and give up running.

Or I can stop using food as a reward for working twelve hour days and much of the weekend, and instead take pride in running and eating healthy.

I know what's right, and I have just one life.

So it's decision time, time to make a stand and do what's right.

And what even decision I make, I need to be man enough to (in the words of Tom Petty) stand my ground on eating healthy and stop backing down and eating junk food and drinking beer.

And that's what was on my mind during this morning's run.
